Shoping in Belgrade

Belgrade offers quality shopping opportunities, similarly to other European capitals. Shopping opportunities are many and varied. Large and luxurious Western-style shopping malls and supermarkets are gaining in Belgrade and Serbia, but there is also traditional way of buying apples from the greengrocer, meat from the butcher, bread from the bakery.

Belgrade is an extremely practical city to make shopping, all is concentrated in the city centre. Belgrade's main street, Knez Minailova and its surrounding area, is decked out with all the usual shops, where you can find all the well-known Serbian and global brand. Besides shopping you can also enjoy in numerous restaurants and cafes, visit some of the cultural and entertainment events for children and adults.

Clothing shops are plentiful and well-stocked with latest fashions. The biggest influence on fashion in Serbia is Italian style and Italian and global brands are available throughout the Belgrade shopping area at reasonable prices. Sizes are the same as those in every other European city, with the most obvious and common sizing system being the standard XS, S, M, L and XL. Sizes also come in the usual numerical measurements that you can find on clothing labels around the world and in most cases with more than one size explanation. Every shop will take items back if you have the receipt and if the return occurs within a reasonable time, but rather than getting your money back, you must exchange returned purchases for a new item.

Due to the official Serbian currency is the dinar (RSD), all visitors are advised to exchange currency only at accredited places. Major credit cards (AMEX, Diners Club, MasterCard, and VISA) are accepted in many, but not all, up-scale establishments in Belgrade. It is always best to inquire in advance.

The Belgrade shopping center includes shops and stores spread from the Slavija square and Kralja Milana street, across Terazije and Knez Mihailova street to Kalemegdan. This shopping area has all the necessary prerequisites for offering its clients various high quality goods of all kinds.

Knez Mihailova Street

Belgrade's main street, Knez Minailova and its surrounding area, is decked out with all the usual shops, where you can find all the well-known Serbian and global brand. This pedestrian zone is one of the best looking streets in Belgrade with many XIX century buildings and the perfect place to go shopping.

At the top end of Knez Mihaila St. is a line of crat stalls that sell handmade gifts and souvenirs.

Kralja Milana Street

International and local brands can be found along a kilometer and a half long stretch of stores. Exclusiveness falls as you get closer to Slavija square but so do the prices.

Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra

Unlike other places in the city, this shopping street offers literally everything - all types of goods, all quality ranges and all price levels. As a residue (fortunately) of the past, you will have the opportunity of doing some trading in the street, like in an open-air bazaar, open every day - regardless of the weather.
 

Ušće Shopping Center

The Center is not only the largest shopping center in Belgrade but also the largest center in the region. The shopping gallery accommodates approx. 150 shops, restaurants and leisure outlets and provides over 1,300 parking spaces. Major international tenants such as Zara, New Yorker and Marks & Spencer opened their stores in the center.
